A couple months ago I updated Big Sur and Tableau took forever to do anything. Now I'm paranoid about updating Big Sur. Does anyone know if the newest Big Sur is going to tank Tableau's performance? Apple fixed the issue with an update, but that was an excruciating couple of weeks given I was right in the middle of my Tableau unit in the class I teach.
Hi Chris,
Each person's results seem to be a bit different depending on machine type (ram, memory, chipset, etc) in addition to OS type.
For example, I'm on late 2013 Desktop Pro (Big Sur) and MacBook Pro (Catalina) and have experienced no issues whatsoever between versions. Others are experiencing graphic/display issues that are operationally significant. Folks on the new M1 chipset are also having both install issues and performance issues (unchecking Enable Accelerated Graphics in Performance & Settings under Help menu, seems to have helped some of those folks). So, my answer (for now) is it depends.
Best, Don
