Hi,
I created a workbook that shows count by failure reasons. Failure reason is a dimension with string datatype. I have added failure reasons as a filter in the workbook. In the desktop, when I filter or search failure reason filter with a substring, it brings in all the data that matches the substring in the result(count is 1339). But, when I search the same substring in the published workbook on tableau online, it brings approx 1/15th of the data, counts are wrong(count in tableau online is 188), and doesn't match with the Tableau desktop. Also, when I edit the workbook in Tableau online and filter the data, it shows me correct numbers. Why the filter would work weird on the tableau online? I have never encountered this issue earlier.
Thank you in advance. Any help is appreciated.

I'm curious if there is a user filter in the data source? And perhaps when you edit the filter isn't being applied? I can't say I've ever run across this type of behavior
