I have monthly batches of data coming from a data warehouse. Is Tableau Prep automatically able to connect to just the latest batch of data? Or perhaps do i need to get a sql server and connect Tableau Prep to the server instead?

Tableau Prep has an incremental refresh in versions 2020.2 onwards. What version are you using?

Are you also wanting Tableau Prep Builder to automatically run? Tableau Prep Conductor allows you to schedule that, though I use task scheduler on my own machine.

What is the datasource you are currently connecting to?
