We are using parameters in our reports and dashboards and the values for the parameter is taken from a field in the report (using the “Add from field” option). However the values remain static i.e. if the field is “Year” and say has values 2010 and 2011 at the time we create the parameter. Now the datasource is refreshed and year 2012 is also available. But the values in the parameter is still 2010, 2011 and it does not include 2012 which is now available.
Is there a way we can refresh the values in the parameter? Any help on this regard would be really appreciated.

No unfortunately you can't change the values within a parameter dynamically.
It is the most voted for idea on the Ideas page though, perhaps we'll see it in a future version of Tableau soon.
