I need to create a report for the management team. The report contains a profile picture for each manager. I want to make it that when I filter for each manager's name, the profile picture will change accordingly. I can do this by loading the profile photos into the shape folder in my tableau repository, but this is very manual. And there is a total of 200+ profile pictures I need to manage. There will be new profile pictures coming in each year. What is the best way to handle these shapes dynamically so that once the picture changes, the image in the dashboard will change accordingly? Also, when the new picture comes in, I hope it will automatically link to the employee ID in the dashboard. Each picture's name is the unique employee ID. They are being stored in a shared drive folder currently.

I did something similar 100+ shapes.

    My approach

In the data you have 200 usernames on which you're going to link them.

Make sure to have a separate folder in the Shapes and paste there exactly 200 pictures with exact usernames.

The goal is to have the same q-ty in the view and in folder with exact matching names.

Tableau will sort them alphabetically - same when you assign the shapes automatically.

Important: All usernames = match pictures names and exact number of username = exact number of photos.

I used same technique here in one of my projects:

Let me know if you managed to do it.

    thanks,

    Adrian
