I was wondering how to count the number of each unique dog within a total number of dogs per state.
So in the example below, if we look at the highlighted bar, we can see that there are a total of 24 dogs in south dakota, and 16 of them are different breeds. So for each different breed, I want to see how many there are.

In regards to the SD example, yes, I see 24 dogs and 16 breeds. Are you wanting to see how many dogs are within each breed? If that is the case, I would just build a table. See below where you see the count of each breed within each state. Attached is an example workbook, see the green worksheet.
