I have a client asking me to develop a Data analysis app with Tableau public. Instead of connecting data source, he requires me to build a input interface with tableau that enable user to type data into tableau. I have been using Tableau for a quite long time. I don't remember Tableau supports such functionality. But my client seems to be pretty sure about it, says he saw a demo that someone has published online (but he does not remember where he saw it). So I am wondering if any Tableau Expert can give me an answer about it. Thanks very much.
Hi Shawn, thanks for your reply. I do have one more question. In this case, is there anyway to realize such functionality in some indirect way? for example, I can set up a live connection bt tableau and Excel, using excel as input interface. But once I upload tableau application to public server, to manipulate the data in excel file would become another problem. Do you have a good solution for that? Thanks again.
