Hi, I've attached a sample excel file. There is a vlookup function (columns B and D) in the second sheet with data array in the first one. I wonder how I can replicate this in Tableau. I know that I can split the two arrays in sheet one into two separate sheets and blend data in Tableau (which replaces vlookup), however, the real file contains tens of tables in the first sheet which may be tedious.
Thanks a lot!
Adam
Hi Adam,
If that's the case then, your data needs a restructuring. All those tables in the single sheets needs to be created independently. There is no point in keeping the all the tables in the single sheet.
We should not go against the RDBMS rules.
Any specific reason why you want all those tables in the single sheet instead of separate? May I know what do you achieve by doing this which can't be achieved using single tables. I am bit curious and surprised the way you are using data source.
May I also know which back-end technology do you use and Does it provides you creating structures like way you put in the excel?
Thanks and Regards,
