I am trying to create a growth rate calculation that uses a lag variable. For example, I have 2 variables (A and B) and I want to see 4Q2021 Variable A divided by 3Q2021 Variable B.

I am trying to create a growth rate calculation that uses a lag variable. For example, I have 2 variables (A and B) and I want to see 4Q2021 Variable B divided by 3Q2021 Variable A. Rather than looking at the same quarter for the two variables, I want the denominator in the calculation to be the previous quarter. This calculation also needs to be dynamic so that it can calculate for all historical time periods.

Attached is a screenshot from Excel with an example of the variables and calculation that I am trying to create in Tableau, and below is a sample growth rate calculation.
