Hi,
I have a dataset that stores where faculty from various dept got their phd. I want to show the top phd institution of a single dept alongside the top phd institution of all depts. I created a rank filter to get to the top phd institution for each dept, but this filter doesn't apply to the grand total for all depts. In the attached workbook, the "All Depts" display all institutions in this dataset, not the top institution (which should be listing Berkeley only).
Please share how you would approach this. I appreciate your suggestion.

Thanks Hari. I brought the question to the Tableau Doctor at the conference. I was told in the newer Tableau version, I can just click the rank filter and select "apply to totals." This solved the problem! I am using 10.3.
