The attached Excel demonstrates the question/scenario better than I'll be able to write here.  If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them!

Basic overview:

  1. Two dimensions (fields) with the same discrete categorical values
  2. The categorical values are hour of day
  3. I want to show the count of records by those two dimensions but aligned to the same distinct categorical values on a singular axis.

Yikes!  That's an earful.  Again, if anyone thinks they might be able to help please take a look at the Excel and how I am currently solving this challenge.  I just want to move this report to Tableau and I don't know how.

Dual axis!  Synchronize Axis!  That did it for me!  If anyone comes across this problem, see attached.

Take the DATETIME fields, slap them to columns.  Convert to Continuous > Hours. Format 12hr.  Add Sum of records in rows.  Right click on send column pil:  Dual axis.  Right click on an axis:  Synchronize.

    Boom!
