For the last few days, I have been having issues with a flow that was working before. I need to publish it to the server after making some changes, but it repeatedly gives me a "Error publishing flow to Tableau Server." After some painstaking troubleshooting, I've narrowed the problem down to a deduplication step. If that step is there, it will not publish. If that step is NOT there, it publishes fine.

This step is not a new part of the flow, it is also in the currently published version that has been running fine for months.

Any suggestions? I do really need that deduplication step!

    Hi, @Courtney Crawford

It seems an issue has occurred on Tableau Server. Which version are you currently using?

Have you checked with your administrator to see if a recent upgrade was performed?

If the problem is version‑related, you may need to consult with your admin.

You might also consider opening a case with Salesforce (Tableau) so they can investigate.

You mentioned that the duplicate removal step may be affecting the flow.

As a temporary workaround, Deepak’s suggestion should help — for example, assigning all fields to the grouping section of the Aggregate step allows you to perform a duplicate check.

For further troubleshooting, I’m curious whether the duplicate step also fails in an extremely simple flow (Input → Remove Duplicates → Output).

If splitting the flow into smaller pieces makes it work, operating the flow in separate segments might serve as a workaround.

I hope this helps, and I sincerely wish your issue is resolved soon.
