Hi All,
I am new to Tableau and BI world. I have been working as a DB/ETL developer/designer for the last 11 years, I have recently started to learn and planning to work in a realtime project in my company. I have also shown my interest to learn and start to work in Tableau. My questions are as below.
1) Which language is used in background of Tableau? For Talend ETL tool - Java ; For Datastage ETL tool - C/C++ ; like that for Tableau which language is used in background.
2) What technique is used in Tableau to join two tables, I mean I have read about QlikView few months back. They use "Associative Mapping" and "Symbol Table and Bit-Stuffed Pointer"
What is the equivalent techniques in Tableau?
3) For QlikView, we need a large amount of RAM memory. How about Tableau? I would like to know more about Tableau Capacity Planning. where I can find some good materials?
4) Which DB is used as REPOSITORY in Tableau? What about the license for the repository DB?
5) Does Tableau have "Synthetic Key" issue? If yes, How to resolve?
6) Where I can find the architecture diagram of Tableau Desktop?
7) What are all the areas I need to cover from a developer perspective?
8) How to define new user role in Tableau? How to give Grant permission to a report? I am expecting similar to "Grant all on sp_name to public;"
9) Generally, Which logic can be avoided in Tableau from a performance perspective?
10) What are all the different data loading methods available in Tableau?
Inputs are welcome!!
Thanks
