If you're considering upgrading Tableau Server this one page is a really good place to start:

Though 10.0 has been released a lot of the information upgrading from one version to another is the same. The page above has two links that could be really helpful in the "Learn" section (What's New in Tableau Server 10.0 and a few more links down What's new in Tableau Desktop 10.0).
