How to create calculated field to show count difference between months?

Hi There!

I'm having difficulty creating an attrition calculation for a dashboard I'm working on.

I have a dataset with names and the month that the employee was in the file for capturing historic data. I need to create a calculated field that shows the # difference between the previous month. It needs to be dynamic so that if someone selects July for example it compares June counts.
