I'm working with a Microsoft SQL database that contains 25 million rows of data.  Queries seem to take longer than they should.  For example attached is a query that is at 19 min and still counting...

 

I tried a live connection and found it slow.  Then I tried creating an extract, and that is also slow.  Am I doing something wrong?  What can I do to speed things up?  My impression was that Tableau 8 could handle almost limitless data in near real time!

    Thanks Cristian, I'll check into the perf analyzer included in v8.  I like the suggestion of possibly going to an SSD.  Any optimization that can be done with hardware and/or file management is helpful.
