Hello Community,
When I am working at my work location, I have a 19-inch square monitor. Using this monitor, when I create and format a workbook view to fill the whole page and print the workbook to a PDF, the data fills the entire PDF page, which is perfect. When I am working from home, I have a rectangular monitor with a 25-inch diagonal. On my home monitor, when I print the workbook to a PDF, the data only fills half of the page (please see attached screenshot). Similarly, my coworkers with 25-inch diagonal work monitors see the data fill only half of the page when they print the workbook to a PDF. To provide a little more background information, my Tableau Desktop workbook is set to fit to the page automatically and when I print to PDF, I select landscape view. Is there a setting, either in Tableau or the screen resolution area of the control panel, that would allow me to ensure that when I print a workbook to PDF, the data will fill the entire page instead of roughly half of the page, regardless of monitor size?
Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions!
Best,
Mike
Michael,
If printing is critical to your work, you might want to design the dashboard to the page. You could set the dashboards to Letter Landscape and it should always print appropriately on the page.
Personally, I never set mine to Automatic because it can look so different on different screens. I want everyone to be able to see the entire dashboard without any scrollbars. (except phones which I don't design for)
I usually set mine to an ipad landscape size. This was one of the built in 'sizes' in version 9. For version 10 I just set it manually to 1020 * 625. Then it fits on the screen and prints one a single page.
