I have a question. Will there be a notification for Mentions & reactions like there is for Thread replies? Can it be configured if there isn't?

Yes slack sends notification for mention by default and you can enable notification for reactions by going for something which is not configure you can go your profile pic from there you need to select preferences from menu and go to notifications
