Hello All,

I have a question regarding the password policies that we going to implement in our salesforce org.

We have around 30 profiles in place and each of them have their own password policy for their respective profile. What if I implement the global password policies in the setup and this will override the existing password policies? Or how does it work?

Coz some users may set the password to never expiry due to using their account for API integrations purpose. How to tackle this type of situation when I'm going to change the password policies ?

Thanks in advance

    Hi, @Sivatej Dan

When you implement global password policies in Salesforce, they serve as the default settings for all users.

However, profile password policies override the global settings for users assigned to that profile

This means that if a profile has specific password policies set, those policies will take precedence over the global settings for users of that profile.

Global Password Policies - these apply to all users unless overridden by profile-specific settings.

Profile Password Policies - these override the global settings for users assigned to that profile. If a profile has its own password policies, those settings will apply to users of that profile.

To handle users who need their passwords to never expire (for example: for API integrations), you can set the password policy for their profile to "Never expires". This will override both the global and any other profile-specific password policies.
