Day of Week averaging in Lightning Reports

I'm trying to get the average number of cases created by weekday (i.e. over the past 3 months, 100 cases were created on Mondays, 225 on Tuesdays, etc), but I cannot for the life of me get it??? I tried looking at other posts and got as far as here - can someone help me??
