I was under the impression that after loading a prospect list in Pardot, that our Marketing Integration user would be assigned automatically. Is this not the case and where would I go to correct it? The list contained no errors but is not syncing prospects to the assigned campaign as responded members.
No, an import doesn't assign anyone unless:
- The record is matched up with a pre-existing lead or contact, either with a CRM ID (as a column of the import) or it finds a match on it's own.
- The import contains a column with email addresses of existing users that you want to assign the records to.
Also note you cannot directly assign anyone to the connector user if the connector user is the system user (B2BMA Integration). Strangely, you could do this inside of Salesforce, but not Account Engagement (athough when typing this up, I do wonder if you could import them with the B2BMA user's email address in the assignment column...). But there's actually good reasons never to have records owned by the B2BMA user, the main one being that this user is "nobody" as an owner, and any action (tasks, notifications) that expects the CRM owner to do something will not be seen by anyone.
So in your situation here, you need to do something to assign these people you import-- an automation rule most likely. It sort of depends on if you're giving them all to the same person or need to distribute them. If you have auto assignment rules, you could run an automation rule to assign them by automatic assignment rules.
Finally, you mention an assigned campaign...unless the "responded" status is the default campaign status you'll have to run an operation to get these folks assigned to the campaign with the appropriate campaign status of responded. You could do this with the same automation rule-- add them to the campaign with the responded status as an additional action.
