Hello, I have a question about Pardot. It keeps updating existing leads/contacts when they fill out a form again. How can we stop this? We don't want existing leads or contacts to be updated when the forms are filled out.
@Aslihan ALP Effectively when a synched field's behavior is set to "Use Salesforce's Value" you are preventing any further change to to that field, once that field has a value. There is no "global" setting for this, it is controlled at the individual mapped field level. So you need to review each mapped field's sync behavior (because there could very well be some fields you do want to allow to be updated, as well as some that you do not). There's also nothing saying that any given field has to be mapped. So if you have field that you only want to use for the marketing system, you can create custom fields and not map them to salesforce at all. Also, the pause sync setting in the connector (which maybe what the other person was trying to explain? ) is only temporary. There is no general setting I am aware of that prevents updating of existing records.
