How do we retire a serialized product at the end of its life cycle if you can’t delete serialized products that have been associated with a product transfer?

@Sam Lee The simple answer would be that you can deactivate product.
The more complex answer would be what happens with retired product? You probably need to return it somewhere and update product status.
