I'm new at this! If I want two people to be entered as a couple in Salesforce, do I create two separate contacts (one for each individual) and then go to "relationship" and indicate their connection? Will they then come up as "John and Sue Smith household account"? Or do I enter them some other way? (I'm assuming I create the contact(s) first rather than the account?) Thanks in advance.

If you're in an NPSP org do this:

Create one contact (whoever should be primary contact).

Salesforce will auto create the household.

Go to the account record. Click manage household. Create the second contact.

Then go to either contacts record page, go to related list and create the relationship record.

In NPSP settings you can choose your household naming convention if you want first names to appear
