I want to update any Campaign Member record when a prospect sees a pardot landing page.
Alternatively I want to write the campaign id on the prospect for which the prospect confirms participation

I am not sure but here is a possible solution.
In the first solution using Pardot's completion actions, you can change a specific field in a Campaign Member record by selecting the "Adjust Prospect Field" action. This allows you to choose the relevant prospect associated with the Campaign Member and specify the field to modify, along with the new value.
The second solution recommends including a hidden field on a Pardot landing page form to capture the Campaign ID. Set the hidden field's value as the Campaign ID itself. This ensures that when the prospect submits the form, the Campaign ID is securely collected and associated with their prospect record as a custom field. Ensure the value you assign to the hidden field corresponds to the desired Campaign ID for the prospect.
