I'm working to move all of our users to Lightning and have found that one of the applications that the org has been using (since 2018) has been retired by the original publisher. The application provided a button to "Find Duplicates" on the case record, allow the user to select from a list of possible duplicates to merge and then walk through the merge process. The app continues to function in Classic but will not in Lightning. I have found a similar app but the cost is out of my current budget.
I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion or example for a flow or resource to replicate this functionality?
@Aimee Redlinger as @Akshay Shrivastava shared, you can create a flow looking for records based on the criteria you set.
If you're looking for a simple way for users in the UI who recognize duplicate cases a way to merge them, you can enable Case Merge in setup. This will allow agents to combine up to 3 cases into 1.
Additionally, you can find several options within the AppExchange around case merge and general data cleansing including free options.
