I have inserted a gif in my Pardot NL. There is a play button appearing in place for where my gif image is (only appears in pardot, not when I create the gif). Is there a way to remove the play button without changing to an image? I really want to keep the gif, it's nicer. But, it causes some problems for people with Outlook Desktop in my suscribers. Anybody add that problem before?
Outlook 2007, 2010, and 2013 won’t show the animation in your GIF, but they will show the first frame (after the images in the email are loaded.) To dance with this constraint, the best practice is to ensure that your call to action is included elsewhere on the page or that the first frame includes the main CTA. Some tricks for video but not sure if work with GIF
- Autoplay: add ?play to the end of your video URL, eg: https://youtu.be/3qRIuqPZSOc?play
- Start position: add ?t= and the number of seconds to the end of your URL to have it start playing at a certain position (use the YouTube built-in functionality to calculate the number of seconds), eg. https://youtu.be/3qRIuqPZSOc?t=47
