I have a nonprofit client using Pardot Plus Edition. I know we can give them access to Custom Objects at an additional cost, but I wanted to know if any Pardot users have been able to circumvent this by creating formula fields on the Contact, or some type of automation to surface these pieces of information on the Contact.
- Does Pardot work well with formula fields?
- What is the workaround to at least bring in the Primary Affiliation since Pardot doesn't work well with lookup fields?
Any thoughts here would be appreciated.
Pardot does not work well with Formula Fields. When a formula field changes, it doesn't update the last edited date, so it doesn't kick off a sync to Pardot. This causes Pardot formula fields to regularly be out of sync with SFDC. The way I get around this is by having a Formula field on the Lead/Contact in SFDC, then creating a second text field that is only visible to the Pardot connector. Then you can use a flow to update the text field with the formula field value each time it changes and sync it to Pardot.
