Help with Permission Set

Question

I created a permission set to give users access to specific record types. Even though the user is assigned this permission set they can still see records of the hidden record type. Any idea on another setting that can be causing this issue?

Access to record types do not control who can see a record. Record Type permissions only control who can create a record with the assigned record type.  To control which users can see specific records you will need to use/adjust Sharing Settings and/or Roles.

If I understand your post correctly, you're expecting to assign this PS to the user and them NOT being able to see the records of that record type.  Permission sets can only GIVE permissions, not take them away.  Also, record type assignments only control which types of records the user can create, but they can't control access to the records themselves.
