I was trying to do the trailhead challenge related to Permission set group. I got the point of Permission set and Permission set group but in this trailhead challenge couldn’t understand the point of Activating Orders. Why do we need to activate the Orders while creating Permission set ? Rather we could have given Object permission directly while creating Permission set And if we have activated the Order why don’t we activate contracts too?

You are not activating order . but whenever that happens so you are defining permission set for that. So for activating a order you need permission from assigned person for that set. I hope this explains your query.
