Hi,

I have the same issue like the user posting the idea:

"Hide edit buttons on record page when user access is read-only":

https://ideas.salesforce.com/s/idea/a0B8W00000GdZ2KUAV/hide-edit-buttons-on-record-page-when-user-access-is-readonly

I have the same configuration. Profile has not a Modify All permission. Records (Account) are shared with them with only Read Only access. If I login as one of the users, I still see the Edit button there on such records and the pencil icon on all fields which are not formula fields, why? is there a way to fix it?

Yes, I know, but that is not an elegant solution. Users can be confused. The message "You don't have rights" is not user-friendly enough.
