With the latest Salesforce release, fields for Scheduling Constraint are now available. How are you all using Scheduling Constraints? Should Scheduling Constraints be used if you don't use Shifts? How do Scheduling Constraints differ from Service Territory Member>Operating Hours? Where are Scheduling Constraints validated? In the Scheduling Policy? What's the experience on the Gantt if a Scheduling Constraint is hit? Salesforce Help doesn't provide much information on the topic.

Hey Jaime, so as far as I'm aware Scheduling Constraints is a feature of Workforce Engagement, more specifically with Shift Management, which obviously overlaps a bit with Field Service.  It focuses on the ability to intelligently match Shifts up to 'Agents'.  So it really aligns to the actual assignment of availability (Shifts) based on certain criteria.

My assumption based on the above is that validation occurs when either using Workforce Engagement to assign Shifts to agents or potentially when using the recently released 'Get Candidates' functionality within Shift Management.

As the actual Scheduling Constraints themselves are a Workforce Engagement based feature, I would make sure to test well if those constraints are actually taken into consideration when using Get Candidates in Shift Management.  Although there is overlap between Field Service and Workforce Engagement they are two completely different products.
