we are in the process of rolling out Shield Platform Encryption in our org. I read through the documentation around the platform encryption (https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.security_pe_enable_standard_fields.htm&type=5), but still have a question about integrations and how will enabling encryption affect them.
For example, if we have an ETL toll running to extract the data from SF and push it over to another system nightly. This ETL tool has a dedicated user in our org that it is using to access SF and objects/fields. So it is safe to say that as long as that Integration User has a permission set that grants read access to encrypted fields it will be able to extract the actual data (and not encrypted "????" values)?
ensure the profile has "view encrypted data" permission. That will help see the data in plain text
