Hi-

I am working with a client to standup Salesforce Connect between two SF orgs. Let's call them org-legacy and org-new. We want to allow users limited access to create and edit work orders in org-legacy using cross-org SF Connect. To prevent swivel, we will allow users to access org-legacy from org-new using Connect, but want to ensure that all other objects in org-legacy are read only. Which org controls the permissions for what users can do in org-legacy, org-new or org-legacy? Based on this article, https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.xorg_user_access.htm&type=5, I believe user access in org-legacy would be controlled by org-legacy. I have shared the article with the client and they are still insisting their SF customer success rep told them it is org-new. Which is correct? Thanks so much.

    Hi Pamela,

Absolutely! It totally depends on the user access that you used to authenticate org-legacy from org-new in cross-org adapter. Let say, if the authenticated user is having read and write access to account object in org-legacy, then the same will apply to org-new given that the external objects are writable or it will be read only.

    Thanks
