Is it possible to change user's role e.g. from Marketing to Sales or from Sales to Administrator after performing Salesforce-Pardot user sync? Or do I need to decide now and based on that put users in correct group?

@Katazyna Viduto this documentation you're referring to is for when user sync is FULLY managed in Salesforce, there is one variation of user sync prior to this where the rule of "all users in this profile must have this salesforce role" applies. Unfortunately, moving to managing all users in Salesforce has just made this more complicated and confusing, not less. The main objective of making it so "Users can now be assigned to Pardot by public group membership, role, role and subordinates, or individually" makes it much easier to ensure that large numbers of people can be easily added to Pardot, or automatically added to Pardot if they're new users and the role hierarchy is used. However, the way this was implemented makes it very confusing as to what the two buckets "Marketing" and "Sales" actually means. Which Salesforce Profile goes with what Pardot Role still applies and is still managed in Pardot in the connector settings by matching profiles to what Pardot role they get, with 1 important exception. ANYONE who is in the "Sales" bucket in Salesforce either by role, role hierarchy, or individually gets the Sales Role, no matter what their profile is. So if you want to assign the Sales Manager role, you must put them in the Marketing bucket.
