In Classic, the Relationship lookup dialog works as I would like. The columns display as configured under Search Layouts. With Enhanced Search, more than just the Name field is searchable. Lovely!
How do I make it work in Lightning? In Lightning, on the Object Manager -> Relationship -> Search Layouts there are "0 search layouts". Although the Search Layouts Classic -> Lookup Dialog is configured, is doesn't display. How do I display multiple columns in the lookup dialog in Salesforce Lightning for the NPSP Relationship object?
Hi @Christine Gorman, for modifying the Lookup dialog in Lightning Experience, instead of creating a search layout, you have to create a compact layout. Please follow along for the same.
1. Click on Object Explorer and select your object.
2. Click on Compact Layout.
3. Click on new to create a new compact layout.
4. Provide a label for the layout and select fields from Available fields for the layout.
5. Click on Save.
6. Now we need to assign this compact layout so click on the Compact Layout Assignment button beside the New button.
7. Click on the Edit Assignments button.
8. Choos your newly created Layout in the "Primary Compact Layout" picklist.
9. Click Save.
and it's done. Now the lookup will show your selected fields.
Please let me know for any further assistance. Please mark it as the best answer if it resolved your issue.
