We are implementing bundles next year as a way of configuring our product offering to our customers to make it easier and more streamlined for the sales reps to configure the quotes. Today all the products are standalone/ individual products.

Ideally, on the renewal quote, we would like to have the new bundles configured based on what they have purchased in the past however using the field of "renewal product" on the product does not populate these into a bundle but leaves these standalone products.

Is it possible to create some kind of automation that is used to configure the renewal quotes taking the standalone subscriptions the customers have today into the bundles which we are creating for next year?  Is there a limitation to this kind of automation? Is it even possible? If so how.

There is a way to apply the bundle logic on renewals, but it likely will only be the way you want it to work on this first renewal, not on renewals of those renewals--and you don't get that choice. In any case, check the Re-evaluate Bundle Logic on Renewals box in your package settings to test it out.
