Hey Everyone,
I'm new to NPSP so wanted to get your guidance on a situation.
We we would like to change the layout of data elements on the "Household Layout" page layout that comes with NPSP. The layout is for the Account Object. The Layout Properties for the page show the following:
Page Layout Name: Household Layout
Namespace Prefix: npsp
Installed Package: Nonprofit Success Pack
Tagging: Enabled personal tag (is selected)
We are in need of rearranging the data elements on this page and creating new sections that will contain new custom Fields we would like displayed on the page.
But, since this page is managed by NPSP, are we able to customize it? If we do, will our changes be lost / overwritten when the next NPSP upgrade occurs?

It's a great question. Let me reassure you that you can make any page layout changes (re-order, remove, add) for the content that already exists on the NPSP default page layouts. You can also add your own fields, sections, related lists, etc. without fear of your changes being overwritten when there is an update to a new version. In fact, when we automatically update the NPSP packages in your org, or you manually update it yourself, there are measures in place that prevent us from modifying your data like that.
