In the Relationship viewer, the contact will auto populate in Classic but will not in Lightning

Using the NPSP we have relationships between contacts. Using the instructions found here, we can have the original contact auto populate in the relationship viewer (original contact being the contact record used to initiate the relationship). This works fine in Classic but does not transition over into Lightning so we are having to do a lookup for the contact record we just used to open the relationship viewer.

@System Admin this is a known issue. To be honest, the Relationship View needs some love! It's come up in talks internally as the result of it being looked at during the last @Salesforce Commons & Sprint Events in Detroit, so we hope to have that issue (among a few others) resolved at some point.
