Hi,
I currently have households version npo02.2.4 installed. Our organization does not use the households package so we would like to remove it as it is creating tens of thousands on household records. My questions are:
1) Can I simply remove the households package?
2) What effect will this shave on my other data (Contacts, Accounts etc)?
3) Do I mass delete the household records before or after deleting the package?
4) Any other points to think about?

The big thing you need to know is that *all* the rollup fields are in the Household package. So you can uninstall it, but you will lose all the aggregate summary fields on Contact and Account when you do.
I would instead recommend setting Household creation to No Contacts. Then you can mass delete the Household object records and not use the functionality, but you won't lose the rollup fields.
