On October 7, 2019, we notified you that Salesforce would start activating the “Turn on Lightning Experience” critical update on January 7, 2020 and finish within 72 hours. We have now extended the timeline for rolling out the critical update and expect to have all orgs updated by January 31, 2020.
What action do I need to take?
No new action on your part is required. When Salesforce activates the critical update for your org, Lightning Experience will be turned on and users who have the Lightning Experience User permission will see the Switch to Lightning Experience link. All users retain access to Salesforce Classic.
What if I was planning to roll out Lightning Experience to users now?
If your org is ready for Lightning Experience, you don’t need to wait for Salesforce to activate the critical update. You can self-enable your org at any time using the Lightning Experience Transition Assistant .
- From Setup in Salesforce Classic, select the Transition Assistant.
- Select the Roll Out phase.
- Expand the Launch Lightning Experience stage.
- Click the button next to Turn on Lightning Experience.
