In Lightning, using Manage Household action, when I split a Contact out from its HH Account (by clicking 'x') on that Contact's card, The newly-created HH Account name is set to 'Anonymous', even though Contact.Deceased = FALSE.

If I simply visit Manage HH for the new HH Account, uncheck then check Auto Name, then Save, NPSP fills the Contact name into the HH name properly.

Anyone seen this before? Seems to be happening in Classic too. I haven't used Manage HH for a while, since I started seriously messing with Lightning - perhaps I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere and broke something?

Figured it out, @James Browne ! Use case is HH Accounts that contain both parents and kids (we are a school foundation that disburses grants). My goal was to separate kids into their own HH Account (then I'll connect them to parents via Relationships).

The kid Contacts exbihiting the "Anonymous" behavior had the "Exclude from HH Naming" field checked.

My expectation was that, upon splitting the kid Contact from the parent HH Account, NPSP would rename the kid HH Account as if the "exclude from HH Naming" checkbox was unchecked.

It was right there in front of my face, as was the HH name without the kids name in it.

I guess you'd call this a feature, not a bug? No way for NPSP to guess whether the "exclude" checkbox means "stay Anonymous on Contact split", vs "unanonymize on Contact split" - seems like that should depend on the use case.
