I created a custom object called Programs which has a master-detail relationship with Accounts (Programs is the detail). When I search Salesforce when logging in for the first time as a new user they don't see Program records; they can only access them from the related list of the Master Account record or the All view on Programs. What the what is up with this???
@Missy Longshore if Programs is a new object, I'm wondering if you are running into this:
Top Results Instead of Search All
"There isn’t a Search All option in search results. Top Results displays the most relevant records grouped by your most frequently used objects. To see results for other objects, click object names on the left side of the page, under Search Results. Searchable objects are listed in the same order they appear in the navigation bar. If you don’t see an object listed under Search Results, select Show More to see all objects available to you, listed in alphabetical order."
It’s possible that once your users begin creating records and using the Programs object, it should start to populate in Global Search.
