Hi Robert. You graciously responded to my post in November on event attendance display and mentioned you are using Form Assembly extensively for all Event Registration and Event Check-In. Any chance I could pick your brain on our issues building that out? We have created forms that are registering people and connecting into SF. Our process is to connect the registrations including guests into a custom Event and Event Audience Object, and then using Marketing Cloud's Cloud pages using a Synchronized Data Extension to bring in the data in AMPscript callouts. One of our biggest issues is that the First Name is not coming over if you are not already a contact. The other thing we are now being asked to do is put limits on registrations so they don't oversell events for our Alumni. I also built a check-in system we were wanting to try out last year on Alumni Weekend as a proof of concept test, but ran short on time. I would love to know your process and how you built yours.

Thanks so much,

Scott Hadley

    Hi Scott,

Sorry for the delayed response. It’s been extremely hectic for me as I’m the only CRM Coordinator on the project. We are just at the end of the development side of phase one. Which is we’ve built out the Event Management for Campus Tours. We will have it in production within the next few weeks, barring any hiccups that is. I thought about doing it the way you have it structured. In that it goes from the FormAssembly(FA) forms to Marketing Cloud but decided that it would be better to push it through Sales Cloud Campaigns first when they register via FA. That way we can take advantage of Campaign Members and the reporting aspect this provides. And I love the cross-object push that FA can do. I can upsert to a Lead or Contact then add them to a campaign and as campaign member all in the same FA connector. Then I use Marketing cloud by linking the campaigns directly into the Journey for registration and checked-In follow-ups. Honestly, I would stay away from creating Custom Objects for this when you have everything you need with Campaigns.

Once I’ve got this into production, we can connect if you’d like.
