Update donations using Data Import

Can I use the Data Import process to update existing donation records? I pulled the Salesforce donation ID, and then mapped the fields that I would like to update, but I got an error. Using the Wizard, I said I wanted to Update Existing records. I selected Salesforce ID as what I wanted to match on and under donations said to use Salesforce ID. I put the donation record ID in the template column for Donation Imported. I got an error saying 'The matching field you chose (Record ID) is not mapped and is required for an Update and Insert operation.'. What am I missing? Thank you

    @Boon Fo​ you're absolutely correct. However, I was also thinking there could be validation formulas that could programmaticly look at values and decide in another field would be required (these may not be picklists). So she'd have to look at both the formal picklist field dependencies as well as other validation fields.
