Trying to understand an unfortunate event from yesterday. A checkbox was set to true on a contact record that has a direct relationship to Account A and an indirect relationship to Account B. Checking that field had no effect on workflow rules/process builders created for Account A. But as soon as that box was checked, it fired a process builder in the INDIRECT account B based on meeting criteria there. Which sent an errant external email out. I have never heard of an indirect contact triggering workflow or process builders on the indirect account. My understanding has always been that if you make a change to the contact, it will only trigger WFR/process builders in the DIRECT account if criteria were met. And making that change would NOT trigger any WFR/process builders in the indirect account. IOW, the change does not transfer over to be considered as criteria in the indirect account. Can someone confirm this?

We know the process builder that fired was from the account the contact had an indirect relationship with, based on a date that got pulled into the errant email. That date was only referenced in the indirect account.
