We are considering whether to configure with pre-set topic selection choices only or to allow free text. Ideally, we want to have a combined approach:-
To have a core list of choices but with the flexibility of allowing users to create their own as needed. This would mean we need to be able to 'merge' topics if similar topics to those already created are added in error. I have only been able to find information on merging topics in communities. We don't have any communities setup within our organisation and I currently only see the option to 'delete' topics, not merge them. Can anyone advise further?

Hi Tanya, I don't think there is an out of the box way to merge topics in chatter outside of the community. However, I did find this: https://automationchampion.com/2014/08/18/merge-chatter-topics-3/ which walks you through building a flow that allows you to accomplish what you want to do. I hope this helps! - Lucas
