We have about 10 price books already in our org talking in terms of Subscription fees as the price that will be charged to customer.
Now we have 3 new products where prices are in the service fees.
Sales rep should be able to access these 3 products in any pricebook.
My question is how should I proceed?
1)If I create a new pricebook with these 3 products specifying the service fees reps won't be able to add other products.
2)If I add these 3 products in all the 10 Pricebooks, is it scalable if there's a change tomorrow in the price for these 3 products. Also every new PB needs to have entry for these 3 products.Which can be errorneous.
3)Also if I go with point 2, we are talking in terms of service fee for these 3 products and rest of the products are based on subscription.
Please help how should I proceed

Hi Megha
you are correct - if the products belong to their own price book, they cannot be added with other products, therefore the solution is to add them to each price book, which in turns means an update has to be repeated 30 times (3 products X 10 price books)
Salesforce's basic product managment is for simple use cases.
Once your product catalogiue increases in complexity you should start lookin at a CPQ product that can handle the scaling challanges.
Look at Salesforce CPQ, Cloud Sense, Apptus and Vlocity to see if their license fee is worth solving this scale issues for you
