Can i change the Font style and size of "text" type email template?

I have many "text" type email templates in classic salesforce version, but when i try to use those email templates and add few lines , i observe the font vary from template to the words i added. Hence felt can i make all email templates to common fonts and size.

    Hey Thanks @Mikey for clearing this. Yea as you have mentioned that we can use HTML type of template for this, so that we will have access to rich text editor. But the problem i faced when i tried it was letterhead. Even tough i keep my letterhead completly empty, it keeps block space above and below body, which looks vague.  I have attached the picture for your reference. Hey Thanks @Mikey for clearing this.     So is there any other way we can make this happen other than using html template
