Does changing the Forecast Category mapped to a Sales Stage change the Forecast Category on all existing Opportunities with that same Sales Stage?

I would like to change the Forecast Category's mapped to Stages. 

 

e.g. The Stage - 'Negotiation and Review', current Forecast Category is 'Commit'. I would like to change this Forecast Category to 'Pipeline'.

 

Once I make this change will this change all exisiting Opportunities with the Stage 'Negotiation and Review' with the new Forecast Category 'Pipeline'?

    Yes - existing opps will be impacted whether or not the ownwer manually overwrote the forecast category.
